Terry is the wearer of numerous hats (literally and figuratively) at Baird Brothers, which comes with the territory after working over 35 years for the family business. On any given day, you’ll catch him buying timber, overseeing the kilns, boilers and rough mill, or managing a variety of other duties that go along with maintaining day-to-day operations.
As a child, he would accompany his father on weekends, sweeping the floors of the mill. And, looking back over the past several decades, Terry has come to realize that one of the biggest blessings he’s been given is the opportunity to spend every day at Baird Brothers with his dad (Paul).
“I’m also very proud of the longevity you see within our company - both from employees and customers,” says Terry.
“Business doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s basically the Golden Rule. We’ve been successful because we work hard and aren’t afraid to do the more difficult things (and do them right). When you work that way, people come back year after year.”
Terry is an NHLA certified lumber grader and holds an operating engineering license for the onsite boiler.
He is an avid big game hunter, enjoying yearly trips to Montana with his father. Quality time is spent with his wife (Jennifer) and his two children (Wyatt and Josie). Terry looks forward to the younger generations growing within the business and possibly seeing his own children take an active role as they get older.
